SEDA – A Family Business
“We are a family business,” says Linda Semanik, Sales Manager for SEDA New Homes. “I mean that in every sense of the word, from family members, to our employees and subcontractors, to our homebuyers. It is the relationships that we have built along the way that have meant the most to us.” Back in 1982, John A. “Sandy” and Linda Semanik began with the vision of providing Jacksonville home buyers with the best quality home for their money and the best service, both before and after the sale. During the past 29 years, three generations of the family have worked for the company, from John’s father to the couple’s children. “Many of our subdivisions and streets are named after family members,” says Linda Semanik. “For example, Flora Parke in Fernandina is named after Sandy’s mother, and we built the community of Arnold Ridge, which is named after Sandy’s father. The community of Sandy Creek in St. Johns County is named after Sandy, and Linda Lake Lane is named after me.” The Semaniks credit much of their success to their employees, who they say are like family. “Many of our employees have been with us over 12 years, some of which have been here over 20 years,” says Semanik. “We have been there for one another during the ups and downs of life, and the ups and downs of this unpredictable real estate market.”

New Park Coming Soon at Sandy CreekSEDA New Homes, Jacksonville’s largest locally owned home builder, has broken ground on their community park at Sandy Creek. “The homeowners are very excited,” says SEDA sales agent Sydney Blount. “It’s going to be a great place for neighbors to come together and play football or soccer, picnic or even fish in the lake.” Conveniently located in St. Johns County, Sandy Creek offers homebuyers an opportunity to build the home of their dreams in one of Jacksonville’s ideal settings. This serene community was designed with nature in mind. “When we designed this community, we wanted to maintain the natural ambiance of the area,” says John Semanik of SEDA New Homes. “It is a very private neighborhood, with one road leading in and many cul-de-sac streets. Most of the generous-sized lots are nestled among magnificent preservation areas and gorgeous lakes.

“Land of the Free, And the Home of the Brave”
Our freedom is not something to be taken for granted, but instead treasured, because as it has been said, “Freedom is not free.” At SEDA, we honor the brave men and women in uniform whose sacrifice keeps our nation safe and our country free. As a marine who served during the Vietnam War (’66-’69), I deeply appreciate the dedication that these men and women have for our country. My father was an Air Force P51 fighter pilot who served during WWII, so respect for our military runs deep with me. We are proud to assist our military when they purchase a SEDA home by offering our $1 Military Move-In Special. In addition, we also recognize those who serve our community and make our neighborhoods a better place to live. For those service professionals, including police, firefighters, teachers and medical professionals, SEDA offers special incentives when they purchase one of our homes. I read an interesting quote from an unknown author. It read: Freedom is a lot like air. Something for us to think about as we freely come together on this September 11th to remember those who lost their lives on that historic day. Respectfully, John A. Semanik

Isle de Mai by SEDA New Homes Hosts Annual Summer SplashResidents of the SEDA New Homes community of Isle de Mai, located on Amelia Island, enjoyed their Annual Summer Splash held last Saturday. “We have a great sense of community here at Isle de Mai,” says Tara Hatton of SEDA New Homes. “Homeowners came together to share food, fun and friendships. Everyone looks forward to this event.” The event was held at the Isle de Mai community pool and cabana. “In addition to gathering at the pool, our homeowners plan neighborhood outings and special events,” says Dawn Cronin of SEDA New Homes. “On July 4th, 47 homeowners enjoyed a day on the river aboard the Amelia River Cruise. Based on the positive response, we are anticipating 80 homeowners to cruise next year.” SEDA is proud that their neighborhood brings people together to build a friendly community. “When a buyer purchases a home in Isle de Mai, SEDA gives them a membership to the Beach Club at Amelia,” says Heather Dunwoody of SEDA New Homes. “It’s another opportunity for our residents to meet and get to know one another.”
